Document Management

Digitize, search, and classify municipal public records.

ManagementIn development · pilot

Archival and digitization application for municipalities featuring OCR extraction, permission-scoped search, and in-browser document previews.

The problem

A municipal archive needs to find digitized documents quickly while maintaining strict role-based access control during consultation and classification.

The solution

Java application built with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Keycloak authentication. Document queries respect access permissions, and a rule-based engine suggests automated classification categories.

Core capabilities

  • PDF upload and asynchronous OCR extraction.
  • Permission-aware full-text search engine.
  • In-app document previewing.
  • Rule-based classification suggestions.

How it works

Digitization and search share granular access control over official public records.

Select a part of the architecture map to learn about its role.

Digitized Records

PDF documents enter the archive and undergo OCR text extraction. Parsed text enables full-text search across scanned historical documents.

Query & Classification

The backend connects ingestion, search indexing, and document categorization. Rule-based engines suggest appropriate file archive classifications.

Storage & Access Control

PostgreSQL stores document metadata and audit logs, while Keycloak manages identity and permissions. Queries strictly enforce user access rights.

Search & In-App Preview

The interface allows users to search and preview documents directly inside the browser. Results strictly reflect the user’s authorized permissions.
